The 2017 World Junior Championship gets under way today in Toronto and Montreal, and there are lots of St. Louis connections in this year’s tourney.
Team USA will feature three St. Louis-area products, two of whom were first-round picks in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. Goaltender Joseph Woll (3rd round, 62nd overall, Toronto), currently the starter on a strong Boston College club in Hockey East, will backstop Team USA at the tournament, while Luke Kunin (1st round, 15th overall, Minnesota) and Clayton Keller (1st round, 7th overall, Arizona) will be tasked with scoring responsibilities.
