With last week’s narrow defeat against Massachusetts still lingering over their heads, Coach Lauren Leo and the 2-1 St. John’s women’s tennis team went into last weekend’s slate of matchups hoping to take out LIU Brooklyn and Providence on Friday and Syracuse on Sunday. They came out pretty well.
Anna Morozova and Jaide Collins’ 6-1 victory at No.3 doubles began to begin the Red Storm’s weekend, and the Johnnies claimed victories at No. 2 doubles from Stephanie Elgegren and Delia Arranz and Natallia Vavulina and Zofia Stainisz at No. 1 doubles. Stainisz, Morozova, Vavulina, Irina Preotescu and Olaya Inclan all recorded straight-set victories to conclude the sweep.
