Aliyyah Handford had 17 points for St. John's (13-3, 4-1 Big East), which made 17 of 25 free throws, 7 of 11 in the fourth quarter.
Tabatha Richardson-Smith had 34 points for the Pirates (13-3, 3-2), who were only 6 of 14 from the line.
