The first in our look at preview magazines starts with Street and Smith’s take on St. John’s - out at your local newsstand right now.
In a section where they note that four of the ten Big East head coaches are alumni (the coaches from Butler, Xavier, now Georgetown and of course St. John’s), Street and Smith’s preview notes how strong the Big East continues to be, but this season no team “will begin the season considered among the nation’s upper-crust elite”.
That may be true, with the recruiting hauls coming for Duke, Kentucky and even Arizona, but Villanova has strong talent, veterans and a consistent attack.
