Oziyah Sellers does not have much experience playing point guard in his career but that’s not stopping him from taking the reins as the primary ball handler for the St. John’s basketball team this season.
Sellers was simply sensational in the role during the Red Storm’s intrasquad scrimmage on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden, finishing with 30 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and one turnover.
He saw his offensive output come without attempting a free throw, making 12-of-17 attempts from the field and 6-of-8 from 3-point range.
“Oziyah is the point guard and Dylan [Darling] is the backup point guard,” Rick Pitino said at halftime of the scrimmage.
