Ubisoft announces Rainbow Six World Cup with Tony Parker as ambassador

French game developer Ubisoft has unveiled its plans to produce the Rainbow Six World Cup, an international, country-based tournament.

The event, slated for Summer 2021, will feature national teams from 45 countries and regions across the world competing against one another.

While maintaining its current esports infrastructure, the competition promises to highlight “international rivalries” and add an “independent layer of competitions” to the Rainbow Six Esports ecosystem.

Starting September 14th, each of the 45 participating teams will begin selecting their National Committees, a group consisting of three team managers. The selection process will see the Ubisoft esports team, local professional players and coaches, and the Rainbow Six Siege community elect team managers for each region.
