Truly Live 360 Video Tested At Singapore F1 Grand Prix

Tata Communications has announced that in conjunction with its partner, Formula 1, it has trialled live 360 degree video content at last week’s Singapore Grand Prix race.

Previous to this test, 360 degree video content has been delayed by at least 30 seconds when transitioning to live TV feeds. Following last week’s trial, Tata Communications is claiming that this is the first time a live 360 degree video feed and TV broadcast has been completed synced up as one.

In order to conduct the trial, Tata Communications, which is the official connectivity partner to Formula 1, set up two 360 degree cameras at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore, with one track side and one in the paddock.
