Singapore Premier League launches esports equivalent, eSPL

The Singapore Premier League (SPL) has announced the inaugural season of the eSPL, the league’s own football video game tournament.

The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has partnered with Redd+E Sports, Zenway Productions and The Gym to organise the tournament.

All eight Singapore-based teams from the Singapore Premier League will compete in the eSPL. Two representatives from each club will “pit their skills” in eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020. The league hopes to capitalise on the game’s built-in editing mode to appear more aesthetically unique. All eight teams will be dressed in their actual team jerseys, with players and officials accurately represented.
