Online game platform Roblox will expand into esports with the inaugural Roblox Creator Showdown.
Taking place on December 4th in Los Angeles, California, eight content creators will compete for a chance to win a share of its $50,000 (~£37,493) prize pool.
According to a release, the event is part of Roblox’s ‘commitment to finding new ways to connect its global community’ by celebrating creators making content using its platform. The launch of the tournament comes at a time of growth for the game, which surpassed over 1 trillion views on YouTube this summer.
