Mexican football league Liga MX launches FIFA tournament

North American sports broadcaster TUDN and Liga BBVA MX, Mexico’s top flight football league, have joined forces for the eLiga MX by BBVA Tournament.

The FIFA 20 tournament will see players from all Liga MX clubs compete in a 17-match season which will mirror the 2020 Clausura schedule.

The top eight teams from the regular season will advance into a single-elimination playoff bracket where the champion of the competition will be crowned.

Juan Carlos Rodriguez, President of Sports at Univision, commented on the tournament in a release: “We are excited to be able to work with our partners at Liga MX to bring this competition to our fanáticos during these unprecedented times.
