Cycling Governing Body To Use Thermal Cameras To Prevent ‘Mechanical Doping’ At Tour de France

The International Cycling Union (UCI) have announced they will be using thermal cameras to test for mechanical doping at the Tour de France.

The cameras will help catch any competitors attempting to cheat using hidden motors within their bikes. Mechanical or technological doping has become an issue that the UCI has started to address in 2016.

The 103rd Tour de France is set to begin on July 2nd. The race is by far the biggest event in the sport of cycling, making it the perfect venue for the UCI to continue their fight against the newest wave of cheating in their sport.
