Call of Duty: Mobile turns to esports with World Championship

Activision has partnered with Sony Mobile to launch the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship, starting April 30th.

Described as a global tournament, many details for the event are yet to be unveiled.

Activision has announced that any players looking to participate in the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship need to be ranked veteran or higher in the Ranked mode of the game. The event will have a total prize purse of $1 million (£812,200), though distribution is unknown at the time of writing.

Chris Plummer, Vice President of Mobile at Activision, spoke on the initiative in a release: “We are very excited to launch our highly-anticipated competitive tournament in Call of Duty: Mobile.
