Augmented Reality in Sports

Augmented reality (AR) is a version of reality where real-world views are supplemented by placing computer-generated images over the user’s current view of the real world. This in turn creates a magnified, or augmented, version of the user’s state of perception. Increasingly, mobile phones have been used to create this distinct new perception.

Augmented reality is one of the evolving technologies that has burst onto the sports scene in the past year. The Baltimore Ravens are transforming the fan experience with the use of augmented reality by creating an image of the fans with computer-generated face paintings.
