Atlanta Falcons Team Up With Local School To Help Teach Students About STEM

The Atlanta Falcons are helping to encourage elementary and middle school kids to get involved in science, technology, engineering and math fields. The team partnered with Georgia Tech and the NCR Corporation to send Ricardo Allen, Justin Hardy, Falcons cheerleaders and its mascot to spend the day with students at the Hollis Innovation Academy in Atlanta last week.

During the program, students worked to build football field goal posts using supplies that NCR provided. First, they had to come up with the measurements and angles to make sure that the goals were regulation-sized. Players and students also tested out augmented reality, as they built a virtual hamburger and had a technology experience with a Microsoft HoloLens provided by NCR so they could interact with holograms.
