Riot Games confirmed in its latest dev blog that the League of Legends client is set to receive a major upgrade, addressing a long-standing source of frustration. The client has long been seen as functional but unreliable, with players often encountering slow performance, crashes, and awkward workflows that disrupt the flow of play.
According to Riot, the upcoming LoL client update will move to the same engine used for in-game experiences, replacing the older, separate technology that caused many of these issues. For a long time, fans have called for meaningful improvements rather than minor fixes.
