Volley from Sporting's Erik Hurtado draws comparisons to Marco van Basten's legendary Euro strike

In a season that has been nothing but unpredictable, MLS teams have had to turn to some unlikely heroes to keep their playoff pushes moving forward. On Sunday night in Kansas City, that unlikely hero was Erik Hurtado, who lifted Sporting KC to a 2-1 win over Nashville SC with an even unlikelier goal.

In his second year with Sporting, Hurtado has primarily come off the bench, and thirty minutes after subbing on for Khiry Shelton on Sunday evening, he volleyed a banger of a go-ahead goal over Nashville goalkeeper Joe Willis. It was Hurtado's third goal of the season and gave Sporting all three points.
