Last week I floated the idea of St Louis, Missouri winning expansion into MLS over David Beckham’s Miami project. There are a multitude of problems with the Miami proposal, but the thing that pushed me over the top was this little tidbit from MLSSoccer.com:
MLS is the top-flight soccer league in the USA and Canada which launched in 1996 and now features 20 teams with four more on their way by 2020, including clubs in Atlanta (Atlanta United FC), Minnesota (Minnesota United), a second team in LA (LAFC) and still even more on the way.
