Little more than a month has passed since Sporting Kansas City’s 2018 campaign came to a close, but as the calendar turns to 2019, fans should already by licking their lips for the new season.
Manager Peter Vermes’ men will get down to business sooner than ever before, commencing preseason training on Jan. 13 in Scottsdale, Arizona. And before we know it, Sporting KC will take the field at Children’s Mercy Park for their earliest competitive match in club history.
That particular date is set for Thursday, Feb. 21, when Sporting KC open their 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League journey against Mexican side Deportivo Toluca FC.
