The NWSL’s go90 Deal Could Be Hurting the League

On April 13th, right before the start of the fifth NWSL season, the league announced they would no longer use YouTube to stream their games but instead a service called go90. As soon as the deal was announced it was met with skepticism.

While I personally didn’t mind just using YouTube I had to figure the league was at least making more money from this deal than YouTube ads would provide. Especially considering the number of people that have viewed games online in the past. Even one of the leagues premier matches between the Portland Thorns and Seattle Reign only had a bit over 55,000 views at the time of this writing.
