A 29-year-old Scottish international with over a dozen years of professional experience, Russell has hit the ground running in Major League Soccer as one of Sporting Kansas City's most influential players over the last two seasons. In 2018, he became the fourth member of the club to record double-digit goals and assists in a single regular season. Last year, he nearly replicated the feat with nine goals and nine assists as the team's offensive MVP.
