The FIFA Congress voted to award the 2026 World Cup to the United bid Canada, Mexico and the U.S.

The United Bid of Canada, Mexico, and the United States was selected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup today by the 68th FIFA Congress. This was the first time FIFA’s Member Associations were given the opportunity to vote on the host for the FIFA World Cup.

Morocco and the United bid of Mexico, Canada and the United States presented to the representatives in Moscow prior to the members voting. The United bid won by a vote of 134 to 65.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the first to expand to a total of 48 teams.
