Wednesday night at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, Sporting Kansas City and USL League One (the third tier in the US Soccer pyramid) side Union Omaha battled to see who would earn the right to compete in the semifinals of the Open Cup tournament that dates back to 1913.
