Swope Park Rangers Sign Former LA Galaxy Defender Tommy Meyer

The Swope Park Rangers have signed defender Tommy Meyer, the club announced on Monday.

Meyer, a two-time MLS Cup Champion joins the Rangers after spending the last four seasons with the LA Galaxy. He was drafted during the first round (No. 19 overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.

Meyer, 25, made 57 appearances in all competitions and assisted the club in winning the MLS Cup in 2012 and 2014. He scored his only goal for the club in a 4-0 win over the Puerto Rico Islanders in the 2012 CONCACAF Champions League.

During his collegiate career, Meyer made 81 appearances and recorded 10 assists for the Indiana University Hoosiers.
