Shortly after sundown on Thursday night, Sporting Kansas City joined countless others in Kansas City and across the nation to light iconic landmarks blue, showing unified appreciation for the brave efforts of first responders, healthcare professionals and essential workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The moving initiative was created last month in the United Kingdom as national icons were lit throughout the country to support their healthcare providers. Fans also showed their support Thursday night by lighting their homes blue and using the hashtags #LightItBlue and #MakeItBlue on social media.
