In three of the past four Sporting Kansas City matches, Matt Besler has been out of the team's starting lineup.
But he's in the MLS All-Star lineup.
Besler was selected to the 26-player MLS All-Star gameday roster Sunday, a presumptive decision after he was part of the fan vote unveiled earlier this month.
It is the fifth All-Star selection of Besler's career, which trails only Preki (seven) and Jimmy Conrad (six) in club history. He will join his MLS co-workers when they take on English club Arsenal FC on July 28 in San Jose, Calif.
Besler, Graham Zusi and Benny Feilhaber each played 45 minutes in last summer's game, when the MLS All-Stars defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.
