Over the next 10 days, the United States men’s national soccer team will take a significant step toward determining its 2018 World Cup qualifying hopes. As usual, a pair of Sporting Kansas City players will be part of the process.
Matt Besler and Graham Zusi were chosen Sunday to the American roster for a World Cup qualifying match against Mexico on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
Four days later, the U.S. will play host to Costa Rica in San Jose, Calif., with coach Jurgen Klinsmann likely using the same roster.
Besler and Zusi were two of 26 players selected to train ahead of the qualifying matches.
