Sporting KC seemed quite aware of that fact, judging by its play in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Children’s Mercy Park.
The home side turned the first half into nothing more than a shooting gallery, peppering the Vancouver net with 11 shots and earning six corner kicks.
Sporting KC’s effort was rewarded in the 39th minute with Jacob Peterson’s fourth goal of the season.
