Sporting Kansas City announced today that the club has signed goalkeeper Parker Siegfried on loan from USL Championship side Louisville City FC after acquiring Siegfried’s college protected rights from New York City FC in exchange for a natural 2023 MLS SuperDraft third round pick.
Siegfried, 24, has joined Sporting on loan for the 2021 season on a semi-guaranteed contract for the year.
A native of Granville, Ohio, Siegfried developed in the Columbus Crew SC Academy and represented the United States at the U-14, U-15 and U-18 youth international levels. He then embarked on a successful college career at Ohio State University, where he logged 72 career appearances and climbed to fourth on the school’s all-time shutout chart with 18 clean sheets.
