Sporting KC promotes chief revenue officer Jake Reid to team president

Sporting Kansas City promoted Jake Reid to team president on Monday, a previously-unfilled position within the club.

Reid, 33, will be the youngest team president in Major League Soccer. He has served as the chief revenue officer for Sporting KC since 2012, and he's worked with the team since 2010. As club president, he will oversee all business operations.

During Reid's tenure as CRO, Sporting KC extended its sell-out streak to 70 straight MLS matches, and for the past three seasons, the club sold all of its allotted season tickets. Reid was named the MLS ticketing executive of the year in 2013.
