Seems like just yesterday that Saad Abdul-Salaam's penalty kick hit both posts and caromed away from the goal, keeping the Portland Timbers' hopes alive of winning the penalty kick shootout in the 2015 Western Conference Playoffs Knockout Round. But today, the page will finally turn from 2015 to 2016 as the first day of preseason, presented by Children's Mercy, kicks off in Tucson, Arizona.
Sporting KC will spend two weeks training in Tucson during the first leg of preseason with three scrimmages on the schedule (opponents TBD). Peter Vermes has 30 players in Arizona with Matt Besler (USA) and Marcel de Jong (Canada) currently with their respective national teams and Daniel Salloi set to join the team during the first week of camp.
