With the 14th pick in the first round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Sporting Kansas City selected Colton Storm from North Carolina.
Storm is a hard hitting defender that showed well in the MLS combine. He has played centerback in college but is seen as mainly a right back at the MLS level.
He is good in possession and makes few mistakes. Storm is a Pennsylvania native and spent some time with the Union’s Academy teams and also spent time with Reading United AC and Portland Timbers U23 in the PDL.
