Sporting Kansas City II has signed Sporting KC Academy defender Kayden Pierre to an Academy contract, the club announced today. Under the terms of the deal, Pierre will retain his NCAA eligibility while being registered to compete in USL Championship matches for Sporting II. The signing is pending league and federation approval.
Pierre, 17, is a defender that can play in both outside back roles. He joined the Sporting KC Academy in 2018 from Vardar SC in his native Michigan. Since then, Pierre has made 59 appearances for the Academy while advancing from the Under-15 age group up to the Under-17s and Under-19s.
