Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber’s return to Kansas City was made official Wednesday.
The club announced Wednesday morning it has signed Feilhaber to a two-year contract, reported by The Star on Tuesday.
Feilhaber was out of contract this offseason.
“My family and I are very happy to be staying in Kansas City,” Feilhaber said in a news release. “I have always loved playing in front of our fans and for this city. It’s very exciting to be able to stay here for another two years to help this club win more trophies.”
Feilhaber, who will be 32 next season, will paid more than the designated player threshold, a source told The Star on Tuesday, which means he will earn an excess of $457,500.
