With just two games to play coming into Week 33 of the MLS season, Sporting Kansas City were forced to go on the road against Real Salt Lake, a team they have lost to four consecutive times. To add to the stress Sporting KC were without Jacob Peterson and Brad Davis due to injuries and Jimmy Medranda due to yellow card accumulation. That would lead to a lineup that had Roger Espinoza playing winger, where he surprisingly appeared to stay for most of the game.
The game didn’t start off pretty. RSL seemed to control most of the possession, though they were fouling Sporting a ton.
