Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler was in an unfamiliar place during Saturday's epic 3-2 comeback victory over the Houston Dynamo at Children's Mercy Park.
Rather than anchoring Sporting KC's backline as the club's captain in central defense, Besler was stationed in a Children's Mercy Park broadcast booth, watching the game unfold from high above as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Besler reflected on Saturday's wild encounter when he made his customary appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB this morning, joining hosts Nate Bukaty, Steven St. John and Jake Gutierrez.
"It's such a special stadium, and there are a couple times each season where something crazy like this happens," Besler said of the 3-2 thriller, which saw Sporting KC overcome a two-goal deficit at halftime.
