The holidays came early this year for coach Sarah Gonzalez and the Shawnee Mission West High School girls' soccer team. The Vikings, who won a state title last May after finishing their season 20-0-1, received a surprise visit from Sporting KC and U.S. Men's National Team defender Matt Besler.
Gonzalez was one of this year's Blue KC Sporting Samaritans, a program sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue of Kansas City to honor those who are making Kansas City a better place.
