How Did Our Mock MLS SuperDraft Measure Up?

(Proposed caption for the above picture: “A Solitary Quartet, Dreaming of TAM.” Never mind that the picture is from the 2014 draft…)

The first half of the MLS SuperDraft is in the books, and our own Sporting Kansas City emerged without a player picked, having jettisoned their pick to DC United in exchange for Garber Bucks, er, Targeted Allocation Money, so there really isn’t much for us to analyze so far (we are ReportingKC after all, not ReportingChicago or somesuch). So let’s take a moment to run down our mock draft one final time and see how the actual draft went compared to our (in some cases, demented-in-hindsight) predictions:

#1, our prediction: Joshua Yaro, centerback, Georgetown

Chicago picked: Jack Harrison, attacking midfielder/winger, Wake Forest

Already we’re 0-for-1…and not like a well-struck ball that was caught by a good play, no, Harrison and Yaro are about as different as you can get.
