Dom Dwyer and the State of the USMNT Roster

It seems like a recurring article by this point, but it’s one well worth revisiting: Sporting Kansas City striker Dom Dwyer continues to emphasize that he would like to represent the United States in international soccer with the senior USMNT rather than with the Three Lions of his native England.

Poetically, it fits perfectly. Dwyer is, after all, married to Sydney Leroux Dwyer, who plays for her adopted home country of the United States rather than for her birth country, Canada. And his bright British accent aside, Dwyer is by this point in his life as American as the proverbial apple pie: he has lived primarily in the United States since 2009, when he transferred to Tyler Junior College in Texas, and he has held a green card since 2012, when he was drafted by Sporting Kansas City with the club’s first-round pick in that year’s SuperDraft.
