Comets beat SeaWolves, clinch playoff spot

The Kansas City Comets are headed back to the playoffs after a one year absence, confirming their spot with a 7-6 win in Orlando.

The Comets ended the first quarter with a 2-1 lead, with Comets goals from Leo Gibson and Lucas Rodriguez. The SeaWolves were level by halftime at 3 all after a Comets goal from Ramone Palmer.

Kansas City pulled away in the third period with a goal from Anthony Grant and two from Kevin Ellis, to give the Comets a 6-3 with one period remaining. Orlando’s comeback fell short as they scored three fourth quarter goals, but Nacho’s goal ended up being the match winner as the Comets eased into securing second place in the South Central Division with a 7-6 win in Orlando.
