Reigning MLS Cup champion Atlanta United FC accomplished something on Sunday night that few other teams have in recent season at Children's Mercy Park.
They emerged victorious.
Josef Martinez bagged a brace and Ezequiel Barco added a goal and an assist, condemning Sporting Kansas City to a 3-0 defeat while snapping the club's 10-game home unbeaten streak in MLS regular season play.
Sporting's 10-game home unbeaten run was tied for the third longest such streak in club history. Only two previous spells eclipsed the 10-match stretch that began last August with a 3-0 triumph over the Portland Timbers.
