Besler and Zusi help U.S. to Copa America semifinals with spectacular 2-1 win over Ecuador

The United States Men's National Team continued its remarkable ascendancy in Copa America Centenario with an inspired 2-1 victory over Ecuador in Thursday's quarterfinals at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.

Sporting Kansas City defender Matt Besler started and played the full 90 minutes while club teammate Graham Zusi appeared as a second-half substitute as the U.S. advanced to the Copa America semifinals for just the second time in history.

Goals in either half from Clint Dempsey and Gyasi Zardes were enough to send the Yanks to Houston's NRG Stadium on Tuesday, where they will meet either Argentina or Venezuela in the semifinals of the prestigious tournament.
