Since the start of 2017, seven MLS head coaches have left their respective clubs. That's the largest number of coaching changes in a single year during Major League Soccer's 22-year history.
Amidst the constant coaching shuffle, Peter Vermes has continued to go about his business as Manager and Technical Director of Sporting Kansas City. After laying foundations in his first two years at the helm, Vermes has guided Sporting KC to seven consecutive playoff appearances, won an MLS Cup and lifted three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups.
On the whole, Vermes' body of work sits among the very best of the current coaching crop.
