Across State Lines: Wright to Have His Number Retired

Paul Wright had himself a very successful indoor career before being drafted by the Kansas City Wiz in the 1996 MLS Supplemental Draft. Wright proceeded to play four seasons with the club, scoring 11 goals in MLS play in 83 appearances before eventually returning to the indoor game. Wright eventually returned to the San Diego Sockers, where he’d scored 100 goals in the early 90s. Wright spent three different stints with the Sockers after leaving Sporting Kansas City and the Sockers legend will have his number 3 jersey retired by the Sockers this coming weekend in their game against the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas.
