Across State Lines: Chhetri Surpasses Messi

International soccer has been center stage for the last week in the world of soccer as national teams have been playing World Cup qualifiers, CONCACAF Nations League, friendlies, and preparing for the Euros. One former Kansas City Wizard has surpassed one of the greatest players of all time in international goals this past week. Sunil Chhetri scored a brace for India in a 2-0 World Cup qualifier win over Bangladesh. The two goals saw Chhetri move ahead of Lionel Messi with his 73rd and 74th international goals for India. Chhetri has become the second leading goal scorer in international goals among active players, trailing only another of the all time greats, Cristiano Ronaldo.
