Another period of competition at the quarterback position for Southern Miss football has yielded the same result: Zach Wilcke remains the Golden Eagles' starter for a third consecutive week.
Coach Will Hall announced Wednesday morning that Wilcke, a true freshman, would lead the Golden Eagles (1-2) against Tulane (3-0) on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN+). He indicated that Ty Keyes, who came into this season as USM's starter, would also play.
"I'm not going to tell you exactly what that's going to look like because I don't want to give that away," Hall said.
