Wife of former Southern Miss offensive coordinator dies at 49

Wendy Anderson, the wife of Arkansas State football coach Blake Anderson, died Monday after a two-year fight with breast cancer.

She was 49.

Anderson, who previously coached on the Southern Miss football staff, said his wife died Monday night.

"My beautiful girl has gone home to be with Jesus ... no more pain, no more suffering, and praise Him no more cancer," said a Twitter post from Anderson's account with the headline "Final Wendy Update 8/20.
