Southern Miss football coach Will Hall covered many of the typical first-day-of-practice talking points after he jogged off the practice field on Friday morning.
Chemistry and familiarity will be important. Culture will be, too. But those intangible concepts won't be what makes the biggest impact from year one to year two of Hall's tenure at the helm of the Southern Miss program.
"The biggest difference is talent," Hall said. "It's great to talk culture and all these cool words and everything, but at the end of the day, players win games."
And, this season, Hall has more of them – more scholarship players, anyway.
