The Sun Belt Conference released its preseason coaches polls for men's and women's basketball on Monday as Southern Miss hoops nears its debut in the league.
After an 18-12 campaign a year ago, the Golden Eagle women received the more optimistic prediction from their conference peers. Southern Miss was picked to finish fourth in the SBC, with Troy being the preseason favorite among the coaches.
Guard Domonique Davis was named to the preseason All-Sun Belt First Team, while center Melyia Grayson received a place on the second team.
Davis, a junior, averaged 14.
