The wide receiver from Southern Miss turned heads on Thursday night at the NFL Scouting Combine when he finished with an official time of 4.35 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Watkins' 40-yard dash time finished second among wide receivers on Thursday. Alabama's Henry Ruggs ran a 4.27.
For reference, Antonio Brown ran a 4.47, Calvin Ridley and Odell Beckham, Jr. each ran 4.43 seconds at the combine before they were drafted.
NFL Network host Rhett Lewis described Watkins as a "dynamic playmaker" and one of the most explosive players in Conference USA.
Watkins led all Conference-USA receivers this past season with 1,165 receiving yards.
