HATTIESBURG - Southern Miss enjoyed its finest football season in nearly a half-decade in 2015.
The Golden Eagles claimed the Conference USA West Division crown and finished with an overall record of 9-5. Record after record fell over the course of the season as Southern Miss put itself back on the college football map.
Yet, the Golden Eagles were far from full strength before the campaign ever got kicked off.
Third-year wide receiver Marquise Ricard, who caught 30 passes for 417 yards and two touchdowns, suffered a leg injury in fall camp and missed the year.
